The Fourth season of the Dawn of War Clan League is coming to an end. There is one last week left where we will play the wildcarded matches. We have compiled a comprehensive list of which matches have been wildcarded so far. Please note that while every attempt has been made to check for every wildcarded game, We take no responsibility for matches not listed which are to be played. Today we start the 1on1 summer cup series for Dawn of War and we look forward to lots of competitive ESL matches. The 1st of 2 cups in the cup series is now open for registration! We're also happy to announce that prizes are available. In the form of shiny ESL merchandise! This is a cup series, with the 1st cup starting on the 4th of July. The 2nd cup will start once the 1st cup ends. All matches have 5 days to be played, so you really have no excuse not to play! As an extra incentive, you now only need msn, icq, irc OR xfire to be let enter the cup! This really is the easiest cup to enter! Sign up for the cup now!Read more about this amazing cup here!But that's not all Your ESL admin team are proud to announce, in conjunction with the Gamereplays.org Soulstorm section that we are giving you, the DoW community, the opportunity to name this cup! Make your suggestions here.Name suggestions will be taken until the 29th of june, at which point your friendly waaghboss sqwadrun will pick the top 5 and put up a poll where you can decide the name! Suggestions will only be accepted in that topic, suggestions made in this topic will be read, and may be laughed at, but won't be considered.  The Dawn of War section has completely renovated and extended their game specific rules! After being informed that our rules had disappeared, we decided not to inform anyone that they were missing (nobody seemed to notice), and completely rewrote them. A lot of the rules have remained the same, but a list of the major changes can be found on the ESL website. Of especial note is the decider map choice rule, that is to say: QUOTE("The Rules") Neither player may pick the map which has been set as the decider map as their own map. Would you like to know more?We've also removed Rokclaw foothills from the map pool, for obvious reasons... |

The first playday of the ESL Major Series has finished, with a lot of teams setting their stalls out early! Of the 7 games played, only 1 was a 3:2 result. Most games were played in good spirit however, and hopefully everyone will have rid themselves of their 1st week jitters, and the 2nd week should be played with a much tighter organisation! The ESL Amateur series is now a month in, and currently phynix of w4sp is in 1st place! There have been 200 matches played by 166 players so far, an average of 7 matches per day! However, now that the 1st month has finished, we're adding some new fun stuff! The first Sexy new feature (SnF) is manual challenging! This means that you can play as many games as you want per week, allowing for the more active players to really pull ahead! the 2nd SnF is instant challenging, which is like manual challenger, but quicker! I've never played with this myself, so I'd be interested to get feedback on what you think of it!
